Tired of seeing the same place and looking for another oasis? Well then,
Baclaran is the best place to be. With all its different spice from the usual
church-walking-to-market-shopping and the solemnity the church can give. It is
just a perfect place for those who are looking for peace and a time to talk to
the Creator. As you step on the grounds of the grandiose entry of this church,
you will see the entire place from the altar up to the last row seats. And, while
sitting outside and eating some grilled corn - which you can buy just a step away
from the church - you will see how it was beautifully done architecturally
wise. The church exhibits Modern Romanesque architecture designed by Architect
Cesar Concio. Many Filipinos, especially to the devotees of Mother Mary, have
flock to the church from 1949 up to the present every Wednesday and call it the
Baclaran Day.
After
that serene moment, you can never get away without trying the Baclaran Night
Market which was full of different stalls; from garments to shoes, school
supplies, accessories, households up to the last thing you and your dog needs
are all here. But, shopping without eating will lead you to Achilles’ heel,
hence, fast food chains with reasonable price are just around the area.
However, if you’re looking for some cheap food, well then, a street food is the
answer. The only thing that is requisite when you visit the night market is
your durable slippers and unwavering umbrella- just in case it rains.
A day of
earnest praying and an unbeatable night market, all in one. Baclaran is just
one of the places to see and worth traveling to, when visiting the beautiful
place of ParaƱaque.
